In response to the recent tweets of Will Brooks in which he has heavily criticized Bellator, the Bellator MMA president Scott Coker has said that he is not too bothered by the verbal shots.
Brooks in currently on eight match winning streak, and has been defending his title defeating Michael Chandler in a split decision in May 2014. However since the appointment of Coker, he has been overly critical for not producing exciting fights.
“This is how it works. Fighters are happy until they’re not happy. Right now, he’s not happy. That could change. I don’t take it personally. It’s just part of the business. If he’s gonna yap, he’s gonna yap. That’s just how it is.” Coker said.
“I think he’s a good fighter,” Coker said. “I think we’ll offer him some more fights and we’ll fight him out. Then, we’ll see. Free agency is gonna work both ways. Is he a fighter that we would go way out of our way to re-sign? I can’t answer that.“
This came as a response towards Brooks twitter messages in which he said Bellator is not investing resources on him because he has not renewed his contract. He further added that everyone has to look for own interest and this is what Coker is doing right now. He will also do what is best for him and till now he has accomplished all the goals he set for himself for Bellator.
