“Middleweight Madness” is about to take place between two middleweight kings Gennady Golovkin (WBA Super, WBC, IBF, and IBO champion) and Daniel Jacobs (WBA regular champion), on March 18 at the Madison Square Garden (MSG) New York.
‘GGG’ (36-0, 33 KOs), who holds the highest knockout ratio of 91.7% in the middleweight division, is still undefeated in 36 fights, will be looking to extend his consecutive knockout record to 24 in 24 fights. However, Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) is not going to be another Kell Brook, ‘Miracle Man’ is one hell of a fighter whose only career defeat came against the undefeated middleweight legend Dmitry Pirog in 2010. Since then he hasn’t let 12 of his opponents go the distance.
On March 18, there will be a lot more at stake than just titles, there will a GGG’s 9 years knockout streak vs. Jacobs 7 years steak. This is something that both can be proud off.
Over the years, Golovkin has developed a perfect game plan, a game plan that involves knocking out every opponent that comes his way, unlike Floyd Mayweather and few other big stars who just want to do enough to win, either by hook or by crook.
Talking about ‘GGG’ Jacobs said: “I’m not afraid of anything, The creator didn’t get me this far to let me fail. This is a man that is coming in to try and do harm to you, He doesn’t care about cancer or my story or my past or anything I bring to the table. He wants to harm me.”
Jacobs trainer Andre Rozier knows his fighter can’t afford to enter the ring against the ‘God of War’ without a perfect game plan. He wants Jacobs to fight smart and try to win on decision, and he knows he is capable of doing that.
Rozier said: “When you have two MX missiles coming at each other, you know it’s going to be a big explosion,”
In few days, ‘The Golden Child’ will come to know the dreaded power of ‘Kazakh Thunder’, the kind of power he has never dreamt or even felt before. However, the question is whether he can avoid those power shots of ‘GGG’?
We’ll find out soon enough!
