Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier Rematch for Light-Heavyweight Championship on April 23 Confirmed

The much awaited rematch of Jon Jones and Danial Cormier has been scheduled on April 23 in Las Vagas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Former light-heavyweight champion Jones, got stripped of his title and belt after he got arrested due to a hit-and-run criminal offense.

Once he got reinstated in October 2015, UFC has awarded Jones a rematch with Cormier to regain his lost belt. This fight will take place at UFC 197 and it will be the night’s main event.

The last time Jones faced Cormier was at UFC 182, it lasted complete five rounds and Jones was able to win on points.

However, Jones (21-1) hasn’t stepped in to the Octagon ring since defending his title against Cormier in January last year.

Cormier has remained a busier fighter in the Octagon in recent times, beating Anthony Johnson for the vacant title and then managed to successfully defend it against Alexander Gustafsson.

Under the same card, Demetrious Johnson will also defend his flyweight championship belt against Henry Cejudo.

The 28-year-old Jones is considered the best fighter in the world and also holds a record of 8 successful consecutive defenses in the light-heavyweight division.
